Aircraft Docking Guidance Mirror

An ICAO compliant system design for nose in docking of
various size aircraft including B737, B767, B777 and other similar
sized aircraft . The system operates under all conditions suitable to
airport operations, and
at a fraction of the cost of other docking systems; is the most economical
system available. Docking mirrors have been installed in several countries
and extensively throughout the United Kingdom at such
airports as Heathrow, Manchester, Liverpool, Belfast, Glasgow and Birmingham
to mention a few. Within our own region, docking mirrors are installed
at Auckland and Christchurch Airports New Zealand and Mascot Sydney,
Australia. Docking mirrors are a
well proven and reliable system for aircraft of all sizes.
Operation of the system is simplicity itself. The docking mirror is installed forward
of the aircraft stopping position and is usually offset from the centre. The aircraft signature is printed in reverse and next to the stop line on
the apron. As the aircraft approaches the stand, the pilot follows the centre
line and as the aircraft approaches the stop position the aircraft signature
will appear in the mirror. The pilot simply stops the aircraft when the nose
wheel coincides with the appropriate stop line.
